CTMC-An advance in productivity
The new CNC Cylinder Turning Milling Center
(CTMC) with Fanuc 21i controls. Now cylinders can be turned
at both ends in a single clamping, including ID and OD turning
and threading operations without repositioning. The unique
tool turret arrangement eliminates cumbersome double clamping
of the cylinder thereby slashing cycle times to a minimum.
Large lengths up to 120 inch centers and diameters up to 14
inches which offers impressive capacity.
The
Lagun CTMC is loaded with unique features. A programmable
disc tool turret with up to 12 positions allows ID & OD
turning & threading as well as drilling and tapping on
both ends of the cylinder without removing it. The tailstock
has a 4-1/16 inch quill diameter and live D1-6 spindle for
mounting expanding mandrel or chucks. The tailstock body can
be repositioned at rapids of 600ipm to any point on the lathe
bed for different cylinder lengths and automatically lock
in place. An LCD readout provides relocation readings of the
tailstock for quick repositioning.
The
CTMC has a 15 HP main motor with programmable spindle speeds.
A massive carriage supports the turret and is driven by ballscrews
50% greater in size and load characteristics than industry
standards. Every machine is laser verified and construction
includes meehanite castings and induction hardened, precision
ground ways. The rigidity of the CTMC and the clamping system
assures concentric bore to OD with precision. There is an
automatic dual lubrication system and sliding front doors
and full-length rear splash guards.
