Lagun Machinery opened its doors with 15 employees in the industrial town of Elgoibar, Spain. The bench-type hand mill was the first machine produced.

Geminis Heavy Lathes and Lagun Heavy Mills were two separate companies that were created to make larger equipment.

Lagun’s products, including milling machines and lathes, were introduced to the American market.

Republic Machinery Company, Inc,. was established in California. A few years later it was renamed Republic Lagun Machine Tool Co.

Republic Lagun CNC was formed to build special machines for the U.S. Government; including explosive-proof machines for the Department of Defense. Our technology, machine components, and engineering started to expand into the aerospace, aircraft, automobile, construction and electronics industries... just to name a few.

Geminis and Lagun joined forces to form Goratu.

Lagun officially went into second generation ownership, and became certified as a Women Owned Small Business.

Lagun began representing Zayer and their CNC milling machines; including a fixed and moving column, bridge, and gantry.

Lagun started representing Spanish manufacturer, Bermaq’s, acrylic-polishing and composite machinery.

Lagun was named an official USA Luge Team sponsor, and assisted in the construction of the luge sled for the 2010 Winter Olympics. We proudly continue to sponsor our talented team today!

Lagun became an official integrator of Fanuc Robotics; providing automation products and services, such as, robotics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotics) and computer numerical control (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numerical_control) systems. In February, Lagun moved to our current location in Harbor City, CA with 25+ employees.

Goratu factory further expanded their series of Geminis Lathes, and introduced their new Multiprocess Horizontal and Vertical Lathes models, GHTM and VL. Meanwhile, Republic Lagun Machine Tool Co. was renamed as Lagun Engineering!

Lagun launched their new Portable Line Boring Machine (MFP). This machine allows you to mill, bore, face-turn, drill, and tap all in one set up! The MFP's unique design gives manufacturers the possibility of machining already assembled structures that are difficult to move from their locations. Lagun Engineering also currently has 3 generations working within the company, and has installed over 100,000 machines in the U.S. and counting!
